PROPOSALS FOR THE ADMINISTRATION BUILDING TO CHANGE FROM OFFICES TO A HERITAGE AND VISITOR CENTRE.
Queen’s University Belfast is preparing a full planning application seeking permission to change the use of the Administration Building at the eastern end of the Quad from administrative offices to a heritage and visitor centre.
The application also includes proposals for public realm and landscaping improvements around the building, supporting its future use as a visitor destination. This includes changes to surrounding outdoor areas, with proposals to replace the existing Botanic Avenue car park with a new accessible landscaped space for students, staff and visitors, guided by a wider landscape strategy.
This change of use application builds on a live planning application which seeks to transform the building’s exterior and introduce a new outdoor amphitheatre and gathering space on the eastern edge of the Quad.
Before finalising and submitting this change of use planning application to Belfast City Council, the project team is inviting the community to comment on the plans and share your feedback.
